Pamela Jenkins
Pamela, a native of Michigan, started playing saxophone when she was 11. Musical touring throughout the continental U.S. and Europe has been interspersed with higher education, culminating in the master of music degree in saxophone performance.
Master classes with Frank Pierce at the Berklee School of Music in Boston, Don Sinta at the University of Michigan, Joe Luloff at Michigan State University, and jazz virtuoso Phil Woods have helped to further round out Pamela's educational palette.
Pamela has also immersed herself in music synthesis, technology, and digital audio, and has been employed at Delta College as a midi technology instructor.
Current musical activities include teaching saxophone, studio pedagogy, piano, form and analysis, and jazz ensembles at the University of Maine at Augusta. Performing and recording with Boogie 2 Shooz and tending to a lively piano tuning business complete a busy and varied career.
Although skilled on saxophone, flute, keyboards and blessed with a powerful voice, Pamela truly shines as a saxophone balladeer... the "goose bump phenomenon" is the coda to the story.
